In his inaugural speech, President John F. Kennedy spoke these immortal words: “Ask not what your country can do for you. Ask what you can do for your country.” These words, spoken fifty years ago now, seem particularly poignant today.

Well its that time of year again—time to get excited about reaching out to the kids in our community as well as those in our church family, and invite them to learn about Jesus at VBS.

Back at the end of the cold war, there was a lot of talk about what our country would do without an enemy. It was as if we needed one to stay focused or something.

Growing Pains? Push through them!

When you think about growing, what do you think of? When kids are growing up, I think about them getting taller, and increasing in knowledge and responsibility. In a business, I think about increasing profits, customers and market share.. In the garden—beans sprouting, tomatoes getting red…Lots of positive images.

But you know there’s way more to it than that.
