In No Time
In No Time
Time goes terribly quickly. This coming weekend, we get to share in the dedication of Jason and Kelly Hosonitz’ daughter, Juliane. It’s also the last Sunday they’ll be with us before they move to North Carolina. Hard to believe it’s been over five years since we met them. They’ll be missed—but every time we catch one of our teenagers having devotions, or pick up a power tool on a mission project, we’ll remember you. Thanks, Jason and Kelly, for your investment in our lives over these years. Now, we get to send you forth to multiply our investment in you in the lives of others.

Great Expectations
Great Expectations
How do you tell the Christmas story—again? Seriously! I confess, I worry about that every October. How do you speak about this same story, arrange the same carols across the Sundays leading up to Christmas in a way that will keep it fresh, while staying true to the story. But then, once I get into it, I invariably discover something new.

A friend of mine who lives there likes to call it, “Where Jesus Is Exhausted.” That may sound a little cynical, but think about it; one of the amazing and wonderful things about Christmas is that Jesus actually did get exhausted.

Great Thanksgiving
Great Thanksgiving
“It is a right, and a good and joyful thing, always and everywhere to give thanks to you, Father Almighty, creator of heaven and earth. By your appointment the seasons come and go. You bring forth bread from the earth and create the fruit of the vine. You formed us in your image and made us stewards of your world. Earth has yielded its treasure, and from your hand we have received blessing on blessing.” Prayer of Great Thanksgiving, 20th Century
